1.1 Team Profile

IPdraft is a multi-disciplinary patent technical drafting and advisory team based in Singapore, Malaysia and Phillipines that provides a full range of services relating to Patent Searching, Patent Analysis and Patent Drafting (in English and Chinese) and Patent Translation (Chinese-English) work for law Firms and clients from various countries.

1.2 Our People

Our professionals provide a level of expertise that can only be achieved by a team devoted exclusively to patent practice. Our patent engineers hold graduate or post-graduate degrees in the sciences and engineering covering a comprehensive spectrum of disciplines. Our team comprises of registered patent attorneys, former patent examiners, molecular biologists, biochemists, pharmacists, physicists, chemists, and electrical, civil, chemical and mechanical engineers with years of hand-on patent drafting and prosecution experience before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and European Patent Office (EPO). This detailed knowledge and experience provides insight and a deep understanding of clients’ needs which enables our patent drafters to provide the highest calibre service in meeting our clients’ business challenges.

Many of our team patent engineers are proficient in English and Chinese language. This bilingual proficiency enable us to provide a value-added service that include translation of patent specifications originally drafted in Chinese to English and further streamlining the translated English specifications to meet the minimum patent requirements practised in USPTO and EPO in the most professional and accurate manners.

2.        Market Offerings 

We take up Patent Searching, Analysis and Drafting work for Law Firms and Clients from various countries.

The procedure generally followed by us is as follows:

1. We collect all the necessary information (including prior art , shortcomings in the existing technology, detailed description of the invention, unique features of the invention, different embodiments of the invention from our client. Drawings/ Flow charts from the Inventor are also necessary.  2. With this information, we shall carry out a patent novelty search on the relevant patent databases before drafting the specification.  The first draft shall be sent to the Client for review within 30 working days. Once we have the comments, we make the necessary amendments in the Specification and claims (if required).

Note: We shall collect a mobilization fees equivalent to 50% of the total drafting fees prior to commencing the drafting work.
